A leading UK Civil Engineering contractor is looking to recruit an experienced Site Manager to support the delivery of projects across the South West Water AMP8 framework.
Managing schemes valued between £50k and £2m, you’ll oversee the successful delivery of a varied programme of works including pipelines, reservoirs, pumping stations, screens, runways and associated civil engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager who thrives in a fast-paced framework environment and has a proven track record within the water utilities sector.

The Role

As a Site Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the safe and efficient delivery of clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Lead site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate project programmes to achieve key milestones and client deadlines.
  • Work alongside commercial teams to monitor budgets, forecasts and NEC contract performance.
  • Support pre-construction activities, including site surveys, buildability reviews and technical input.
  • Liaise with local authorities, highways departments and statutory undertakers where required.
  • Attend client meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and temporary works requirements.
  • Produce and review RAMS, site documentation and project records.
  • Carry out regular quality inspections, site audits and safety checks.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure successful project delivery and high levels of client satisfaction.

About You

You’ll be an experienced civil engineering professional with a strong background delivering projects within the water utilities sector. You’ll be confident managing multiple schemes while maintaining excellent communication with operational teams, clients and subcontractors.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Essential experience delivering clean water and/or wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience working on long-term water utility frameworks.
  • A strong background in civil engineering and infrastructure delivery.
  • Good knowledge of NEC contracts, ideally NEC4.
  • A thorough understanding of Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations and temporary works.
  • Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously.
  • Strong commercial awareness and programme management skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • An HNC, HND, NVQ or Degree in a construction-related discipline (or equivalent).
  • SMSTS, CSCS, Streetworks and other relevant site management qualifications.

  • 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Hybrid working.
