The Opportunity

We’re looking for an ambitious Senior Structural Engineer to join a thriving civil and structural engineering consultancy based in Exeter.
This isn’t a consultancy driven by volume or repetitive design work. Instead, the team focuses on delivering carefully chosen residential and commercial developments, providing bespoke engineering solutions from initial concept through to project completion.
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll enjoy genuine involvement throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with architects, developers, and clients from feasibility and planning stages right through to construction. The Role

As Senior Structural Engineer, you’ll play an integral role in delivering projects while helping support the continued growth of the business.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Producing structural designs, calculations, drawings, and technical reports to a high standard
• Working collaboratively with architects, consultants, and clients to develop coordinated design solutions
• Undertaking structural surveys and feasibility assessments
• Providing engineering input during planning and early project development
• Managing client relationships and maintaining clear communication throughout each project
• Ensuring technical accuracy and quality across all deliverables
• Designing a wide range of residential and commercial schemes from concept through to completion
• Taking ownership of projects and making confident engineering decisions

This is a varied role where you’ll have the freedom to influence projects while working as part of a supportive and highly skilled team.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced engineer who can demonstrate:

• Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
• At least five years’ industry experience
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Tekla
• Experience using Revit, Site3D or Flow would be advantageous but isn’t essential
• Excellent communication, report writing, and IT skills
• The ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to agreed timescales
• A proactive approach with a passion for delivering high-quality engineering solutions
