The Opportunity

Big project. Serious engineering. Long-term security.
We’re looking for experienced Site Agent to join one of the UK’s largest infrastructure projects, based near Bridgwater.

Working on a major reinforced concrete and heavy civil engineering package, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex structures on a technically challenging, high-profile scheme.

With work programmed through to 2029, this is an excellent opportunity for Site Agents looking for long-term freelance continuity, a competitive day rate and the chance to be involved in a landmark UK infrastructure project.

We’re particularly interested in Site Agents who combine strong on-site delivery experience with a good understanding of design coordination, buildability and technical problem-solving.

The Project

You’ll be involved in the delivery of substantial reinforced concrete and heavy civils works, including:

• Major in-situ reinforced concrete structures
• Reinforced foundations, bases and retaining walls
• Formwork, falsework and reinforcement packages
• Deep drainage and associated infrastructure
• Earthworks and temporary works
• Complex structural concrete and heavy civil engineering activities

This is a busy, technically demanding environment where planning, coordination and engineering expertise are essential.

The Role

As Site Agent, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of allocated construction works, ensuring activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme.

You’ll work closely with engineering, design, commercial and construction teams, helping resolve technical challenges and keeping works moving.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing the safe and successful delivery of allocated civil engineering packages
• Coordinating site activities, subcontractors and engineering teams
• Working closely with design teams to resolve technical queries and buildability issues
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and construction methodologies
• Ensuring design information is available ahead of planned works
• Managing RFIs, design changes and technical interfaces
• Coordinating temporary works and construction sequencing
• Developing and managing short-term programmes and lookahead schedules
• Monitoring progress, productivity and resource requirements
• Managing quality assurance, inspections and ITP compliance
• Supporting commercial teams with variations, progress and change management
• Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
• Reporting progress and identifying potential risks to delivery

About You

We’re looking for experienced Site Agents with a strong background in civil engineering and the confidence to manage technically challenging construction packages.
Your experience could come from:

• Major infrastructure projects
• Reinforced concrete and structural civils
• Bridges, tunnels or large concrete structures
• Nuclear and energy infrastructure
• Water and wastewater projects
• Heavy civil engineering and major groundwork packages

Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering
• Proven experience working as a Site Agent on major civil engineering projects
• Strong reinforced concrete or heavy civils experience
• A good understanding of design coordination and construction buildability
• Experience managing engineering teams and subcontractors
• Strong knowledge of temporary works, QA and construction sequencing
• Excellent organisational, technical and communication skills
• The ability to identify problems, make decisions and keep construction progressing
• The right to work in the UK
• The ability to commute to the Bridgwater area
