Freelance Quantity Surveyor

If you’re an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor looking for a contract that offers stability, a great working environment and the opportunity to work on a long-term utilities framework, this is one worth exploring.
We’re partnering with a well-established South West contractor that continues to secure significant work within the water utilities sector. As a result of sustained growth, they’re looking to appoint a Freelance Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of projects from their St Austell office.
This is an initial 6–12 month contract, offering the chance to join a close-knit commercial team led by an approachable and highly supportive manager.

The Role

Working on a busy water utilities framework, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day commercial management of schemes, with a strong emphasis on administering contracts under the NEC4 form of contract.

Your duties will include:

• Administering NEC4 contracts throughout the project lifecycle
• Managing compensation events, early warnings and change control
• Producing accurate cost reports and commercial forecasts
• Preparing valuations and applications for payment
• Managing subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts
• Monitoring project costs and identifying commercial risks and opportunities
• Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery

What We’re Looking For

We’re keen to speak with Freelance Quantity Surveyor professionals who have:

• Strong NEC4 contract administration experience
• Previous exposure to water, utilities or civil engineering projects
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
• The ability to build strong working relationships across project teams
• A proactive approach and the confidence to manage their own workload
