Bid Coordinator
Plymouth, Exeter or Bristol | Hybrid | £45,000 – £55,000 + Benefits

The business is strengthening its South West work-winning function and is looking to appoint a Bid Coordinator, with the flexibility to be based from Plymouth, Exeter or Bristol.

What will you be doing? Working within an experienced frameworks and proposals team, you’ll help keep bids moving from initial opportunity through to final submission.

As Bid Coordinator, you’ll bring together information, people and deadlines, making sure submissions are well structured, professionally presented, compliant with client requirements and delivered on time.
Your role will include:

  • Coordinating content for tenders, PQQs, expressions of interest, case studies, presentations and other proposal materials.
  • Working with proposal colleagues and wider project teams to gather and organise submission content.
  • Producing polished, consistent documents in line with company brand standards.
  • Creating straightforward graphics and visual content to improve the presentation of proposals.
  • Checking submissions against client requirements to ensure responses are complete and compliant.
  • Producing presentation decks and associated supporting materials.
  • Managing priorities and coordinating workloads around key bid deadlines.
  • Taking part in bid kick-off meetings and progress reviews.
  • Reviewing submissions produced by colleagues and providing constructive feedback.
  • Proofreading content for clarity, accuracy, grammar, spelling, structure, formatting and overall readability.
  • Coordinating hard-copy submissions where required.
  • Capturing bid content, evidence and supporting information within the company’s knowledge management system.
  • Reviewing feedback from successful and unsuccessful bids and helping turn lessons learned into improvements for future submissions.
  • Supporting internal post-bid reviews.
  • Maintaining project and framework opportunity information through Dynamics 365 to support governance and business development.
  • Maintaining accurate records for client tender portals.
  • Managing portal activity, from downloading tender documents and coordinating correspondence through to uploading final submissions.

What are we looking for?

You’ll already have experience working with bids or proposals within a construction or infrastructure environment and understand what it takes to deliver quality submissions against demanding deadlines.
The successful Bid Coordinator will ideally offer:

Essential experience and skills

  • Previous bid or proposal experience within construction or infrastructure.
  • GCSE-level education or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint capability.
  • Experience with Adobe and design packages including InDesign, Visio and Illustrator.
  • Proposal training such as Shipley or Winning Bids Masterclass.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, priorities and deadlines.

Desirable experience

  • Stronger-level capability across InDesign, Visio and Illustrator.
  • Previous use of knowledge management systems.
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Dynamics 365 or Salesforce.

This position offers a salary of £45,000 – £55,000, depending on experience, and can be based from Plymouth, Exeter or Bristol, with hybrid working.
