Systems Control Engineer sought in Plymouth.
We are chasing after a ‘High Voltage’ professional (graduate – senior) to join our ambitious UK leading client. At present our client is seeking a Systems Control Engineer with substantial High Voltage experience to join their team of professionals and to specialise in specific, niche electrical engineering projects.
 
Relevant experience and qualifications are expected; however, we are open to discussions with those holding equivalent M&E construction experience, relevant High Voltage Engineering experience, Power Systems Maintenance experience or those with similar authority, and qualifications.

   Daily Duties of a (High Voltage) Systems Control Engineer:

  • Work on a varied portfolio of projects both in the UK and internationally, supported by the HV team lead
  • Conduct design calculations for utility connections, generators, uninterruptible power supplies, renewable technologies, and associated earthing and distribution systems
  • Utilize industry-standard software including CAD, ETAP, SafeGrid, and EOM
  • Successfully interact with clients and other professionals
  • Define and agree on briefs with clients
  • Contribute to the professional development of team members
  • Actively lead self and support the career development of others
  • Ensure quality standards and technical accuracy are met

   What you’ll need to succeed as a (High Voltage) Systems Control Engineer:

  • Understanding of key principles of electrical transmission/distribution systems
  • Degree/HND in electrical or controls engineering preferred, but relevant industry experience will also be considered
  • Willingness to learn from the HV, MV, and LV teams across the company
  • Committed, open-minded, analytical, and problem-solving mindset with a strong willingness to learn
  • Commitment to continuous development and teamwork, aligning with the company’s principles
